Energy saving

With energy bills and everyday living costs continuing to rise, many households are feeling the pressure of keeping their homes warm and comfortable through the winter. For some families, finding clear information and understanding what support is available can feel challenging.

That's why we are working together with Energy Manage and Lower Green Community Centre to offer a free drop-in event where residents can access friendly, impartial advice and practical support.

Event detail

Energy Awareness Community Event
Lower Green Community Centre, Farm Road, Esher KT10 8AU
Wednesday 25 November 2026
11.30am to 2.30pm

Residents can find out more about:

  • reducing energy use and household bills
  • making homes warmer and more energy efficient
  • grants, insulation and energy-efficiency schemes
  • understanding energy tariffs
  • help with energy debts and fuel crisis support
  • the Priority Services Register and other support services

The event will bring together local organisations in one place, making it easier for residents to get trusted advice and ask questions in a welcoming environment. Fuel poverty can affect anyone, and no one should feel they have to face these challenges alone.

The Elmbridge Climate Change Citizens' Panel highlighted that making homes more energy efficient can be difficult for households already facing financial pressures. However, personalised advice and information about grants and support schemes may help residents find practical solutions that reduce energy costs now and make homes more comfortable in the future.

Cllr Ashley Tilling, Climate Change, Environmental Services and Sustainability, said:

The Energy Awareness Community Event will bring together trusted local partners to offer free, independent advice on reducing energy use, accessing financial support and making homes more energy efficient. Residents on lower incomes may be eligible for grants, subsidies and other support to help make their homes warmer, more comfortable and cheaper to heat. I encourage everyone to come along, get impartial advice and find out what help may be available to keep their home warm this winter.
