Elmbridge Borough Council is the licensing authority for the purposes of the Licensing Act 2003.
We are responsible for licensing premises in the borough that are involved in providing alcohol, late night refreshment and certain types of entertainment.
Every five years we must publish a statement of licensing policy setting out how we carry out functions in support of the government’s objectives which are:
- the prevention of crime and disorder
- public safety
- the prevention of public nuisance
- the protection of children from harm
The licensing policy was written in accordance with statutory guidance issued by the Home Office under S182 of the Licensing Act 2003. It has effect between 13 November 2022 to 12 November 2027.
