What we can investigate

We can investigate:

  • barking dogs
  • persistent sounding alarms
  • noise from building work and construction work outside recommended guideline hours
  • regular DIY noise that happens at unreasonable times of the day or night
  • loud music and parties
  • noise from pubs and clubs
  • noise from commercial premises

We can’t investigate: 

  • anonymous complaints
  • road noise
  • aircraft noise
  • one-off parties
  • everyday sounds, including:
    • children playing
    • people walking across their floors
    • washing machines
    • doors banging
    • occasional dog barking
    • loud or raised voices from people nearby
