Climate change plans

Overview

We have always been committed to safeguarding the environment in Elmbridge, and that continues as we address the challenges posed by climate change.

In 2019 we declared a climate emergency and pledged to become a carbon neutral council by 2030.  We are taking steps to reduce carbon emissions and improve sustainability and to encourage our community to do so too, with the aim of becoming a carbon neutral borough by 2050.

A sustainable Elmbridge is at the very heart of our decision making, with sustainability being a cornerstone of our Vision 2030 - a sustainable, thriving Elmbridge driven by the power of our community.

Keep up-to-date on the latest information with our environment news or to find out how you can make a difference see Sustainable Elmbridge.
