Climate change plans

Climate change governance and partners

Find out about our climate change governance and partners.

Governance

Due to the importance of this area of work, the Cabinet contains a Portfolio Holder for Climate Change, Environmental Services and Sustainability and briefings for all Members are held. Climate change updates are also reported quarterly to Cabinet.

Partners

Working with our partners is key to delivering our carbon neutral ambitions.

Surrey’s Climate Change Strategy

We support Surrey County Council’s Climate Change Strategy which sets out strategic ambitions and priorities and commits Surrey to becoming net zero carbon by 2050.

Surrey Environment Partnership

The Surrey Environment Partnership (SEP) is made up of Surrey County Council (SCC) and the 11 district and borough councils in the county. It aims to manage Surrey’s waste in the most efficient, effective, economical and sustainable manner.

Action Surrey

Action Surrey works in partnership with Elmbridge Borough Council and acts as an impartial energy advice service. They help you to save money on your energy bills, keep warm and reduce your environmental impact.

Rethink Waste

The Green Redeem competition was part of Rethink Waste, an incentive aimed to reduce the amount of waste produced in Elmbridge.

Local Nature Recovery Strategy (LNRS)

We work in partnership with Surrey County Council on the Local Nature Recovery Strategy (LNRS). LNRS is a spatial strategy managed by Surrey County Council establishing priorities and map proposals for specific actions to drive nature’s recovery and provide wider environmental benefits.
