Monitoring

Brownfield Land Register

The council's Brownfield Land Register provides up-to-date and consistent information on brownfield (previously developed) sites that are considered to be appropriate for residential development. The council reviews and updates the register at least on an annual basis.

Brownfield Land Registers are in 2 parts:

  • part 1 lists brownfield sites that meet the criteria set out in the Town and Country Planning (Brownfield Land Register) Regulations 2017 - sites that are at least 0.25 hectares or capable of supporting at least 5 dwellings and are suitable, available and achievable
  • part 2 lists brownfield sites that are granted permission in principle (GOV.UK)

Elmbridge currently only has sites listed in part 1 because no sites have been granted permission in principle.

You can view all the sites on the council’s Brownfield Land Register.
