Residents are invited to explore Elmbridge’s Tudor past at Walton Library with ‘Excavating Oatlands’, a free community display from Elmbridge Museum, on display until August 2026.
The display showcases archaeological finds, including everyday objects to fragments that tell a wider story of life at Oatlands Palace, offering a rare glimpse into Tudor life in the borough.
It showcases the important role of amateur archaeology in uncovering local history. Visitors can also explore the exhibition online exhibition or watch a video explaining the story behind the discoveries.
To complement the display, a free illustrated talk will take place at Walton Library as part of Surrey Day 2026, celebrating the themes ‘Going Underground’ and ‘Uncovering Surrey’s Hidden Treasures’.
