If you’re part of a local community group with a green idea and are looking for funding to support your project, there is still time to apply to the Elmbridge Community Climate Action Fund (ECCAF).
Grants of up to £5,000 are available to help initiatives that:
- reduce carbon emissions and raise awareness
- save energy or generate renewable energy
- cut water use and waste
- support wildlife and biodiversity
- encourage walking, cycling and other active travel
Applications are open until midnight on Sunday 21 June
We’re particularly keen to hear from projects that involve the wider community and inspire others to take action, so if you’ve been thinking about applying, now is the time to submit your idea.
Cllr Ashley Tilling, Portfolio Holder for Climate Change, Environmental Services and Sustainability, said:
Our communities play a vital role in tackling climate change locally. Through the Elmbridge Community Climate Action Fund, we’re supporting groups to turn their ideas into meaningful projects that benefit both people and the environment. I’d encourage any group with a green idea to apply before the deadline.
Who can apply?
Not-for-profit groups based in Elmbridge, including charities, community and faith groups, schools, sports clubs, village halls and uniformed groups such as Scouts and Girl Guides.
You can apply for up to £5,000, or a smaller amount if you’re part-funding your project.
