Residents can discover how Elmbridge has changed over the years in a new exhibition opening this September at Riverhouse Barn, Walton-on-Thames.

Then and Now: Elmbridge Through Photographs runs from Wednesday 16 September to Sunday 4 October, displaying a unique collection of historic photographs from Elmbridge Museum's archives alongside present-day recreations taken from the same locations.

To mark the museum's 52nd anniversary, Elmbridge Borough Council staff volunteered to recreate a selection of historic photographs, capturing the same streets, landmarks, and views as they appear today. The resulting exhibition offers a fascinating glimpse into the borough's changing landscape while celebrating the people and places that have shaped Elmbridge's identity over the years.

The exhibition is free to visit and open daily from 10am to 4pm, with no booking required.

As part of Heritage Open Days, Elmbridge Museum will also host a programme of activities at Riverhouse Barn on Saturday 19 September, including tabletop museum displays, a Surrey Diggers-themed escape room and a talk exploring the history of Walton's Mount Felix.

For more information about the exhibition, visit the Riverhouse Barn What's On page or the Heritage Open Days website.
