Are you concerned about air pollution and its impact on your health? If you live or work in Elmbridge, you can now sign up for a free air quality alert and forecast service designed to help you stay informed and protect your wellbeing.
Even on cold and still winter days, pollution levels can rise unexpectedly and linger for several days. To help you plan ahead, Cambridge Environmental Research Consultants (CERC), in partnership with Surrey local authorities, has created a system that predicts pollution surges up to three days in advance.
This service tracks local nitrogen dioxide, ozone and fine particulates, and also provides updates on pollen count, UV levels and air temperature.
Transport for London (TfL) is already using the service to share the information at Tube stations, bus stops, river piers, digital roadside signs and their website.
Why sign up?
- Receive free alerts when pollution levels are high or very high straight to you via text, email or voicemail.
- Choose the areas that matter most to you: where you live, work, or travel.
- The service includes health advice to help you reduce exposure and stay safe.
It’s quick and easy to register through the AirTEXT service, giving you peace of mind and helping you make informed decisions every day.
