The Mayor, Councillor Steve Bax, hosted a very successful Charity Ball at Sandown Park on Friday 20 March raising both awareness and over £19,000 in funds for his chosen charities: the Community Fund for Elmbridge and the Mayor of Elmbridge Trust Fund.
The Mayor was pleased to welcome over 100 guests from across Surrey and Elmbridge Borough including, Councillors, Surrey dignitaries and Mayors from neighbouring London Boroughs. The room looked stunning with The Great Gatsby themed décor. Fundraising took place during the evening with a fantastic raffle and auction and a picturesque photo wall! Guests were very generous as they enjoyed the delicious three-course meal. Creative DJ Charlie Cuoozo of Brooklands Radio provided the music, along with 1920’s themed singers Verity & Violet who stunned the audience and Helz Belz and ‘her ladies’ who performed a wonderfully fitting dance that all guests thoroughly enjoyed.
The Mayor was very grateful for the continued support from Chelsea Football Club and Killik in Esher and the support of many local businesses for their donations.
The Mayor said, “It was a wonderful evening, and I really appreciated the contributions made to help raise funds for my chosen charities – the Community Fund for Elmbridge and The Mayor of Elmbridge Trust Fund. My guests thoroughly enjoyed the evening, and I was delighted that it was such a success.”
