Running from 2 September to 12 November at Riverhouse Barn Arts Centre, the programme includes celebrated poet Raymond Antrobus, historian Dr William Tullett, and a special double-bill exploring the heritage and wildlife of the Thames, Mole and Wey rivers with author and mudlark Lara Maiklem and freshwater ecologist Dr Lewis Campbell.

The Quiet Ear by Raymond Antrobus

Award-winning poet and author Raymond Antrobus discusses his acclaimed memoir ‘The Quiet Ear’, reflecting on his experiences of deafness and the inspiring D/deaf cultural figures who shaped his journey. Chaired by Surrey-based anthologist Ana Sampson. BSL interpreted.
Sniff: A History of Smells by Dr William Tullett

Join historian Dr William Tullett for a fascinating and interactive journey through the history of smell. Discover how scents have shaped communities, culture and everyday life from the medieval world to the present day.
Elmbridge River Secrets – double bill
Thursday 12 November, 7.30pm
Bestselling author and mudlark Lara Maiklem reveals the hidden stories uncovered along the Thames foreshore, while freshwater ecologist Dr Lewis Campbell explores the wildlife, challenges and restoration of Surrey’s rivers Mole and Wey.
