Due to the hot weather, we have reduced our mowing programme for August to a single cut to make the best use of resources. Contractors will only focus on areas where cutting remains necessary, with active weed growth, grass seed heads, cricket squares and essential fire breaks.
Our priority is to keep parks and open spaces safe, accessible and welcoming while avoiding unnecessary grass cutting during dry conditions.
Alongside essential mowing, contractors will focus on activities such as sweeping paths, edging grassed areas and removing obstructions caused by overgrown hedges and shrubs.
This approach helps maintain the accessibility and usability of our green spaces while ensuring resources are directed where they can have the greatest benefit for residents.
