Elmbridge Mayor launches Elmbridge Together Fun Run to support local charities

Residents of all ages are invited to lace up their trainers and take part in the Elmbridge Together Fun Run this September, raising money for two important local causes.

The event, hosted by the Mayor of Elmbridge, Councillor Judy Sarsby, will take place on Sunday 20 September 2026 at the Elmbridge Xcel Sports Hub in Walton-on-Thames. Participants can choose between a 5km riverside run, jog or walk, which starts at 3pm, or a 2km children's event starting at 2:30pm.

All profits from the event will support the Mayor's chosen charities, Elmbridge CAN and The Mayor of Elmbridge Trust Fund, helping to make a positive difference to local people and communities.

Councillor Judy Sarsby, Mayor of Elmbridge, said:

As Elmbridge approaches its final year in its current form, the Elmbridge Together Fun Run is an opportunity for the whole borough to come together. On Sunday 20 September, residents are invited to take part in an event that celebrates the unity, community spirit and sense of belonging that make Elmbridge such a special place. 

I hope people of all ages and abilities will get involved, bring along family and friends, and help us make a real difference for local people.

Participants are encouraged to seek sponsorship from friends, family, neighbours and colleagues. A fundraising campaign has been set up through JustGiving, where runners can create their own sponsorship pages or make a direct donation.
