Business masterclass - presentation being delivered by Sandra Porter

Local employers from across Elmbridge came together on Friday 23 January for a morning of insight, networking and practical guidance at our latest business masterclass, ‘How to thrive as an Elmbridge employer in 2026’.

The event brought businesses of all sizes together to focus on the challenges and opportunities facing employers in the year ahead.

The session was led by Sandra Porter, Managing Director of outsourced HR services provider The HR Dept, who delivered a dynamic and practical masterclass addressing two of the most pressing questions for local employers:

  • what do I need to do to prepare for the impact of the Employment Rights Bill?
  • what are the five additional employer costs I need to be budgeting for in 2026?

Sandra provided clear, actionable guidance to help businesses prepare for upcoming legislative and financial changes. Her insights equipped attendees with the tools needed to reduce risk, manage change and support sustainable growth.

Businesses also benefited from the presence of our local partners, the Federation of Small Businesses (FSB) and Weybridge Job Centre Plus, who were on hand to offer advice on business grants, recruitment support and wider guidance for employers looking to grow their teams.

The informal but focused event created valuable opportunities for employers to connect with peers, strengthen business relationships and tap into the support available across the Borough.

We would like to thank everyone who attended for contributing to another successful and collaborative local business event.
