- Work starts 23 October to 5 December 2025
- Monument Hill car park will be closed throughout
Work starts this week ( Thursday 23 October) on the next phase of the Weybridge town centre improvements and will run to early December.
This work will be around the Monument Green junction with Thames Street and will deliver wider pavements, refurbished traffic lights, resurfaced roads, pavement repairs and improvements to the bus stop.
Throughout the work, Monument Hill car park will be closed. Please use one of the other Weybridge car parks. Our apologies for the inconvenience.
The work is expected to take six weeks and will be completed in three phases. Traffic management will be needed during the construction, visit the Surrey County Council website for more details.
This work is part of the overall Weybridge town centre improvement works, which have already delivered:
- Improvements to the junction with Monument Hill and Baker Street with new yellow box markings to improve traffic flow.
- A new zebra crossing on Queens Road outside Manby Lodge Infant School to enable safer crossing for parents and children.
- A new raised table at the junction with Bridge Road and Old Wharf Way to reduce vehicle speeds and improve visibility for pedestrians.
Next year we will be continuing with the overall programme and delivering:
- New zebra crossings and a raised junction table on Portmore Park Road and Balfour Road plus a contraflow cycle lane on Old Wharf Way, to provide safer crossings for pedestrians and encourage more cycling.
- Wider pavements, a new zebra crossing, streetlights, and new seating and planters on Church Street, between Minorca Road and Baker Street to provide a safer space for walking and resting.
- Following feedback, we’ll also be installing bollards on Old Wharf Way to encourage better driver behaviour.
Please visit the Surrey County Council website for full details on the scheme, including traffic management for the current phase and the benefits and details of the whole scheme.
