On Friday 14 November, Walton businesses backed a new term for the business improvement district (BID).
Building on the success of its first term, businesses in Walton have been voting on a new term ballot for the Love Walton BID.
The new five-year business plan will deliver over £700,000 of new investment to help drive more customers and deliver safer streets and stronger businesses.
The business plan was supported by a majority of those voting by number and rateable value with:
- 57% voting YES by number
- 63% voting YES by rateable value
Tracey Palmer, Love Walton BID Manager said:
In our first five years, Walton BID focussed on getting the basics right – and we delivered. Now, we’re ready to build on that foundation with a bold, exciting vision for the future. We want to make Walton an exciting and beautiful town that people want to visit and businesses want to invest in.
Councillor Kirsty Hewens, Portfolio Holder for Enterprise, Parking and Local Economy, added
As a Walton resident, I see a town centre that is now stronger, greener, and safer than it was five years ago. We’re excited to build on this successful partnership and continue supporting what makes Walton special through the BIDs next chapter.
