Wellbeing walks Christmas 2023

Don’t spend the holidays alone, discover our festive program of walks and cycle rides running throughout Christmas and into the New Year.

Our wellbeing walks and cycle rides are a fantastic way to stay active, enjoy the outdoors and connect with others during the festive season. We offer free walks almost every day, including Bank Holidays, and organise weekly cycle rides across the borough all year round, all thanks to our amazing team of dedicated volunteers.

Walking isn’t just great for your physical health; the mental and emotional benefits are even greater. That’s why our walks have been welcoming new participants and loyal regulars for over 22 years. Each walk is graded by difficulty and length, starting at 30 to 45 minutes, so there’s something for everyone. Many participants find comfort and companionship in walking together.

Faye, our walks coordinator, explains:

The festive season can feel isolating, but our walks offer a chance to connect. They spark conversations, build friendships and bring people together. Just a few steps outdoors can lift your spirits. The steady rhythm of walking, crisp air, and nature’s calm work wonders for your mind and body.

If you’re on your own or simply want to spend time with like-minded people this festive season, we’d love to see you. Friends, family, and accompanied children are always welcome, so bring your visitors along for fresh air and exercise.

Merry Christmas to all our walkers and wonderful volunteer walk leaders. We hope you have a happy and healthy holiday.
