As we approach the festive season, we want to thank you – our residents – for being part of Elmbridge’s journey this year. Your commitment and support for your community helps us shape a borough we can all be proud of.

Looking back at 2025

This year has been full of opportunities and challenges, but we are delivering for Elmbridge.

  • Investing in play and leisure – including the new Churchfields splash pad, bringing joy to families across Elmbridge.
  • Supporting our communities – through enhanced community grants and the Connected Communities programme, helping more residents access vital services.
  • Boosting our local economy – with Weybridge becoming a Business Improvement District, Esher voting to establish a BID in April 2026 and Walton renewing its BID commitment, strengthening our high streets.
  • Driving sustainability – through the Elmbridge Citizens’ Climate Panel, ensuring your voices shape our environmental priorities.
  • Empowering young people – with the Youth Hub securing funding to expand its support.
  • Making life better for residents – introducing free 30-minute parking in many of our car parks, healthy walks and cycle routes, improved leisure facilities, and support for those facing housing difficulties.
  • Protecting our waterways – through enforcement and removal of unauthorised moorings.

These achievements highlight the strength of our community, a commitment we will continue to champion as we progress towards becoming the East Surrey Unitary Authority in 2027.

Join our next community conversations

We want to keep listening. Our Community Conversations are your chance to share ideas, ask questions and help shape local priorities.

We will be holding events in Esher, Claygate, Cobham, Hersham, Molesey, Walton and Weybridge in January and early February.

Key topics include local government reorganisation and the May elections.

Find out more and book your place on the council website.

Wishing you a wonderful festive season

The festive season is a time to pause, reflect and enjoy time with family and friends. On behalf of Elmbridge Borough Council, we wish you a wonderful festive season and a Happy New Year!

Cllr Mike Rollings, Leader, Elmbridge Borough Council
Cllr Simon Waugh, Deputy Leader, Elmbridge Borough Council
