Since declaring a climate emergency in 2019, we have embarked on an exciting journey towards carbon neutrality, and we invite you to join us.
Many local community groups and organisations share our vision for a greener future. Therefore, we are reaching out to all groups involved in innovative sustainable projects or those with new ideas to help us build a vibrant, sustainable Elmbridge that benefits everyone.
In 2024, we launched the Elmbridge Community Climate Action Fund (ECCAF) to empower local groups and organisations to make a real impact in areas like:
- Carbon emission reduction education
- Energy reduction, efficiency, and renewable generation
- Water and waste reduction
- Biodiversity enhancement
- Active travel
The next round of ECCAF funding is now open until Sunday 22 June with up to £5,000 available per project. We want to support initiatives that engage the wider community and inspire others to take action, creating a more sustainable and greener environment for all.
Non-profit organisations or groups based in Elmbridge, including charities, community groups, schools, faith groups, sports clubs, village halls, and Scouts/Girl Guides, are all welcome to apply.
When the funding round opens, you can apply for the full amount or partial funding. If you are seeking partial funding, you will need to show evidence of match funding from third parties and your own organisation to ensure project delivery.
For inspiration, check out how ECCAF grants were used in 2024:
- Long Ditton Cricket Club: invested in a more energy-efficient chiller.
- All Saints Weston Green Church: added a sustainable flowerbed in their remembrance garden.
- Elmbridge Eco Hub: purchased a food waste composter.
- Cobham Free School: replaced old lighting with 146 LED fittings and 4 LED lamps.
- Painshill Park: Reduced water usage by replacing manual taps with timed flow push taps.
