Get ready for some water adventures at the new Weybridge eco-friendly splash pad!

Mayor Steve Bax cuts white ribbon at Weybridge splash pad

We are thrilled to announce that the exciting new water play area at Churchfields recreation ground has been ceremonially opened! Our new Mayor, Cllr Steve Bax, cut the ribbon and declared the splash pad open for use on Thursday 22 May. He also got soaked in the super splash zone!

The splash pad will be open tomorrow, Saturday 24 May, just in time for the May half-term school holiday.

Get ready for a splashing good time in a safe, inviting, and super fun environment that will captivate children of all ages! The splash pad is packed with exciting and innovative water features that promise endless hours of enjoyment.

But that's not all, it's also eco-friendly! Designed by The Splash, the pad aims to conserve water and reduce environmental impact, so you can have fun while being kind to our planet.

Cllr Simon Waugh, Portfolio Holder for Leisure, Culture, and Commercial Strategy, said: “This new splash pad reflects our commitment to sustainable resource use while providing enjoyable experiences for children and families. Sustainable play facilities are a key element of our vision for a greener, more playful future. We hope children have many hours of fun at this new environmentally friendly facility throughout the spring and summer.”

Cllr Ashley Tilling, Portfolio Holder for Climate Change, Environmental Services and Sustainability, added: “We are thrilled for children to fully enjoy this new water play facility. Sustainability was a top priority when selecting the design and equipment, and we are delighted that it meets our high standards with its recirculating water system and solar panels, making it more energy-efficient than most similar facilities. While providing exciting play opportunities for children, we are also ensuring that we are environmentally and financially responsible”.

Opening times

The Weybridge splash pad is open from 24 May to 2 September. Opening hours are 10am to 6pm, Monday to Saturday, and 10am to 5pm on Sundays.

The Hersham splash located in Hersham recreation ground, Pratts Lane, KT12 4RR is also open from 24 May to 2 September, from 8am to 5pm.
