Whether you're a fair-weather walker, enjoy short leisurely strolls, or prefer a more active Nordic walking pace, join us for National Walking Month this May. It's a fantastic opportunity to connect with nature, meet new people, and get moving!
About National Walking Month
National Walking Month, organised by Living Streets, celebrates the benefits of walking for health, wellbeing, and the environment. It's a chance to walk more, whether for fun, fitness, or your daily commute.
Throughout May, Living Streets will share 20 ways to fit 20 minutes of walking into your day. Sign their pledge to get tips, guides, and a chance to win a £50 shopping voucher.
Elmbridge Ramblers Wellbeing Walks
If you don't work or do a school run, or if you want to walk in your own time, why not try the free local walks organised by the Elmbridge Ramblers Wellbeing Walks. They are led by experienced volunteers, so there is no need to plan. Walks are available for all abilities and take place daily in different parts of the borough.
Walks include:
- All-Inclusive Walk and Wheel: a 1km route from Xcel Leisure Complex every Monday morning, suitable for those with mobility or health challenges.
- Bereavement walks: walks to help those dealing with loss, visiting places like Bushy and Richmond Parks, Painshill, and Claremont Gardens.
We also offer:
- Nature walks: explore local wildlife with a ranger.
- Historical walks: learn about the history of Molesey and Weybridge.
- Weekly and monthly walks: various routes around Claygate, Hersham, Molesey, Walton-on-Thames, Esher Common, and the Thames towpath.
- Claremont and Painshill walks: Free walks in partnership with Painshill Park and Claremont Gardens (booking required).
