We are proud to announce a further commitment to water play and outdoor recreation in the borough.
Water play matters to our community
Families across Elmbridge have told us loud and clear: water play is a cherished part of summer. It brings joy, connection, and outdoor fun to children and parents alike. We are listening and acting.
More splash, more access
Splashpads are already available at Churchfields Recreation Ground in Weybridge and Hersham Recreation Ground. We are now exploring funding opportunities to introduce new splashpads in Molesey and Cobham, ensuring more families can enjoy water play closer to home.
Our investment in modern, sustainable splashpads, like the successful new facility at Churchfields Recreation Ground, reflects our commitment to a Sustainable Elmbridge as these facilities balance water and energy use, ensuring environmental responsibility without compromising on fun.
New sand play area at Oatlands Recreation Ground, Weybridge
This December, we will begin revitalising the play experience at Oatlands Recreation Ground in Weybridge with the creation of a new sand play area, set to open next spring.
Replacing the existing paddling pool, this vibrant new space will offer year-round fun for younger children, with engaging, age-appropriate equipment designed to spark imagination, movement and joy - whatever the weather.
This investment is part of our ongoing commitment to creating inclusive, accessible, and exciting play spaces for families across Elmbridge.
