
On Monday 13 October, Elmbridge Borough Council, in partnership with Places Leisure, is proud to relaunch the Elmbridge Community Wellbeing Grant (ECWG). This initiative aims to reduce health inequalities and improve the wellbeing of underrepresented and harder-to-reach communities across the borough.
The grant supports projects that promote mental and physical health, especially in areas with higher levels of inactivity and limited access to wellbeing services.
Funding overview
- Total fund available: £12,500 from Places Leisure
- Maximum grant per project: £2,000
Who can apply?
Eligible applicants include:
- Not-for-profit organisations
- Sports clubs
- Schools
- Community and faith groups
- Registered charities and community interest companies
Applicants must operate within Elmbridge.
Project eligibility criteria
To qualify for funding, projects must:
- engage participants from Elmbridge areas with high physical inactivity and barriers to accessing wellbeing services (e.g. Walton South, Walton North, Cobham and Downside, Lower Green)
- ensure at least 75% of participants are Elmbridge residents (flexible for border areas)
- target priority groups identified in the Elmbridge Physical Activity Strategy 2021–2031:
- Disabled people
- Individuals with long-term health conditions
- Women and girls
- Ethnic minority communities
- Vulnerable young people
Application requirements
Successful applications will:
- show collaboration with other community organisations
- provide evidence of any additional external funding (if applicable)
- commit to working with Elmbridge Borough Council to reach target groups
- agree to share feedback and outcomes from the project

- Application period: Monday 13 October to Friday 21 November 2025
- Deadline: 5pm on Friday 21 November 2025
