Discover the rich history of Molesey with free guided wellbeing walks

Hurst Park Racecourse East Molesey


Step back in time and explore the fascinating history of Molesey with Anthony Barnes, a dedicated wellbeing walks leader and Elmbridge Museum volunteer. Join Anthony for two engaging walks that bring local history to life through captivating stories and historical highlights:

Friday 7 February: The Story of Hurst Park Estate
Meeting Point: Tesco, Hurst Road, West Molesey, KT8 1SE
Discover the history of Hurst Park following the closure of the racecourse in 1962. This walk will delve into the transformation of the area and its significance in local history.

Thursday 6 March: Molesey Circular Walk
Meeting Point: Tesco, Hurst Road, West Molesey, KT8 1SE
Learn about the triumphs and tragedies of the Molesey racecourse, which held its first race on 19 March 1890 and its last on 10 October 1962. This walk will explore the racecourse's short but eventful history.

All walks are free to join and take place from 10:30am to 12pm. No booking is required—simply turn up at the meeting point on the day indicated!
