80th anniversary of VE Day

The 80th anniversary of VE Day will take place on Thursday 8 May 2025. 

VE Day marks the end of World War II in Europe. It honours the service and sacrifice of those who fought in the war, as well as those who supported them from home.

Flag raising ceremony

To mark this day of shared commemoration, there will be a flag raising ceremony with The Mayor Elmbridge at Civic Centre in Esher, on Thursday 8 May at 10am. All Councillors and past Mayors will be invited.
