How to apply for an additional rubbish bin.

If your household needs additional rubbish capacity, you can apply to be assessed to receive a second rubbish bin. 

Before you apply

Before considering an additional rubbish bin you will need to:

  • already have a large rubbish bin (360 litres)
  • demonstrate that you are recycling as much as possible
  • tell us if you have any waste related to a medical condition or your family situation
  • tell us the number of people in the household and any other details that may be relevant to the request

Apply for a second bin

To apply to get a second rubbish bin, please make a request.

Request a second rubbish bin

We will review your request and contact you to let you know the outcome within 7 working days.

If you are approved for a second bin, there will be a charge of £15.

Emptying second bins

A second bin will only be emptied where it has been applied for and approved. We review this arrangement every 2 years.
