Our support of the local economy will not only enable businesses to grow but that positive impact will also benefit local amenities such as parks, libraries and leisure facilities.
As part of our 2030 Vision, our Thriving Elmbridge deliverables will include:
- delivering a new high street place ambition through our economic strategy, which encourages our high streets to continue to be great places to live, work, shop and play, see support for businesses
- celebrating the arts and entertainment in Elmbridge and their value to a thriving community, we will facilitate a borough-wide cultural offer, see our thriving arts scene
- evolving our high streets, through our Local Plan, among other policies, to support vibrant and resilient high streets, see a pathway to a sustainable and thriving Elmbridge
- exploring Business Improvement Districts, such as that in Walton-on-Thames, to provide sustainable, longer-term support for our high streets
- delivering support to local businesses through a package of funding and networking initiatives, see support for businesses
- continually improve our leisure offering and facilities, see Xcel development works
- we will improve and enhance our children’s play areas through the delivery of the Elmbridge Play Development Strategy
- implement a new Parking Strategy, responding to the evolving behaviour trends and habits of our community and visitors
