Climate change governance

We have established a new internal Climate Change Member Advisory Panel to focus on strategic and policy matters. The membership reflects the political composition of the council and comprises six councillors. The panel meets regularly to develop and prioritise actions to help us meet our carbon management and reduction and climate change objectives. The panel acts as an advisory panel with no delegated decision making and can submit its recommendations for consideration by the Cabinet and Council, as appropriate.

The Surrey Environment Partnership (SEP) is made up of Surrey County Council (SCC) and the 11 district and borough councils in the county. It aims to manage Surrey’s waste in the most efficient, effective, economical and sustainable manner.
