Please note, due to high temperatures, the cycle ride from Walton to Staines on Tuesday 26 May has been cancelled.
Cycle Rides in hot weather:
To help keep everyone safe, our walks and cycle sessions are adjusted during warm weather and will be cancelled if temperatures exceed 30°C or if a Met Office extreme weather warning is in place.
Before setting out, please check the latest weather forecast to confirm whether your session is going ahead.
Your safety is our top priority. We encourage everyone to take extra care in hot conditions and to make decisions that are right for their own wellbeing.
We have been organising cycle rides since 2003. All rides are free and are led by trained and experienced volunteers.
Joining a ride
If you are on joining a cycle ride, please be aware:
- time and length of routes vary, but all rides are at a gentle pace
- ride routes make the most of the local cycle ways, such as the Thames towpath and cycle lanes, and we do not take groups on busy roads and junctions
- all rides have a stop halfway to rest, refuel and socialise
- if you fall behind, your group will wait for you at the next junction or safe place to stop
If you are new to our cycle rides, please arrive 10 minutes early and let the leader know. You will be asked to fill out a new cyclist registration form.
Cyclists joining our rides need an appropriate bike in good working order. If in doubt, have it checked by a local bike shop or qualified mechanic.
