Registrations for the Specsavers Surrey Youth Games will open in February
The Specsavers Surrey Youth Games is the largest annual youth sports festival in the county with more than 4,000 competitors taking part in the event every year.
The Games are open to children and young people aged between 7 and 16 years old who live or go to school in the Borough. It is a great opportunity for them to try out a new sport or enhance their knowledge and ability in their favourite sport by receiving coaching, tactics and skills from local qualified coaches, all for free.
The attendees of the training sessions then have a chance to represent Elmbridge against the 10 other boroughs and districts of Surrey on the 15 and 16 June at the Surrey Sports Park in Guildford.
At the 2018 event 150 children represented Team Elmbridge across 11 sports and 19 teams. In total Team Elmbridge collected 9 team medals, this included 3 silver medals in U10 Squash, U18 Boccia and U13 Boys Judo along with 6 bronze medals in U13 Squash, U11 Girls Cricket, U11 Girls Hockey, U13 Girls Judo, U15 Lacrosse and U11 Girls Touch Rugby.
