Elmbridge Sports Council Grant Aid - opens 19 April

This annual grant is targeted towards encouraging sporting achievement in the Borough. Both local sports clubs and talented individuals are invited to apply. A total of £10,000 is awarded each year with:

  • Awards of up to £750 for sporting clubs to be put towards the cost of equipment or capital projects.

  • Awards of up to £350 per individual are available to be put towards their training, travelling, competition costs and purchase of equipment. Individuals must have a supporting letter from a club or coach

This year, Sport Grant Aid is also about supporting local athletes, clubs and organisations through the coronavirus crisis and with the return to play. For clubs, funding could help cover:

  • The implementation of changes needed to ensure you are adhering to the latest government guidelines around social distancing,
  • Additional coaching, 
  • Facility hire, 
  • The purchasing of personal protective equipment to make sure everyone who takes part in activity at your venue is safe,
  • A loss of income that has severely impacted your ability to survive, 
  • Essential maintenance on your facility that is now not possible due to the crisis.

Sport England - small grants

Small grants are available for clubs that are looking for under £10,000 in either revenue or capital spending. This can be for sports equipment, coaching fees for a project or a combination of both capital and revenue. The small grant cannot be used for permanent fixtures and fittings.

Applying for funding

As well as providing direct funding, the Elmbridge Sports Development Team is able help find external funding sources, endorsing a club or an individual's funding applications, and provide more general support or advice.

FACS membership

The FACS Scheme aims to provide county performers with the support and encouragement they require to help them reach their full potential by offering free access to training facilities in Elmbridge. To be eligible for the scheme you must be both:

  • A current county sports person from any Sport England recognised sport, in any age group

  • A resident in the borough of Elmbridge

Sites that you can use include:

  • Elmbridge Xcel Leisure Complex, Waterside Drive, Walton on Thames, KT12 2JG

  • Hurst Swimming Pool, Dunstall Way, East Molesey, KT8 1PD
