Elmbridge Sports Council Grant Aid open for local sports clubs and sports persons - closing date 31 May

This grant is targeted towards encouraging sporting achievement in the Borough. Both local sports clubs and talented individuals are invited to apply for it to help take their abilities to the next level and compete regionally, nationally or internationally. A total of £10,000 is awarded each year with:

  • Awards of up to £750 for sporting clubs to be put towards the cost of equipment or capital projects.

  • Awards of up to £350 per individual are available to be put towards their training, travelling, competition costs and purchase of equipment. Individuals must have a supporting letter from a club or coach

Please note that in these exceptional circumstances, we would consider using the Grant Aid funding to help clubs get through the current crisis.  We would need to consider individual club circumstances, including finances and other avenues of support that have been sought. If you are a club applying for support as a direct impact of Covid-19, please complete the additional questions on page 4 of the club application form (below).

Please contact for more information.

Sport England - small grants

Small grants are available for clubs that are looking for under £10,000 in either revenue or capital spending. This can be for sports equipment, coaching fees for a project or a combination of both capital and revenue. The small grant cannot be used for permanent fixtures and fittings.

See the Sport England Funding page for the current national funding for community sports clubs.

Applying for funding

As well as providing direct funding, the Elmbridge Sports Development Team is able help find external funding sources, endorsing a club or an individual's funding applications, and provide more general support or advice.

Active Surrey can help with their grant finder application which requires specific idea of a project.
