Call for sites privacy notice

The following privacy policy is for call for sites.

Who we are and what we do

As part of the Local Plan preparation, Elmbridge Borough Council would like to know if there are potential sites or broad locations that should be put forward for further consideration for new homes, regardless of where they are in the borough.

Sites for any type of future use such as employment, retail and community facilities can be submitted. We will review these sites as part of the next stage of the plan preparation which will include the selection of sites for allocation.

Our Statement of Community Involvement gives further details of how we engage with Elmbridges community:

For more information see the council's corporate privacy policy.

What we need

We collect and store your contact details including your name, address, postcode, email address and telephone number (should you give it) together with details about the site you are submitting, whether you own it or not and any relevant planning constraints and history of the site that you are aware of.

Why we need it

We collect the details under the 'Personal Details' and 'Proposed Site Details' sections as these will enable use to gain a clear picture of your proposed site. We will then consider the site as part of the preparation of the New Local Plan.

What we do with it

The information that you have provided will be held by the council and will only be accessed by authorised council employees. However, details of site submissions are not confidential and information received in relation to the site and its availability will be published as part of the Local Plan preparation and may include the site address and the name of the site owner.

We may ask you separately for your permission to provide you with information about other council services, and if you agree, how you would like to receive that information. But you do not have to give your permission to receive these details, and it is not a condition of your application.

How long we keep it

Your personal data will be held on your database unless you ask us to be removed from the register.

If you no longer wish to remain on the register, please ask us to take you off by contacting us at localplan@elmbridge.gov.uk, by telephone on 01372 474 474 or by writing to us at Planning Policy, Planning Services, Elmbridge Borough Council, Civic Centre, High Street, Esher, KT10 9SD.
