Kent Town conservation area

Information about Kent Town conservation area.

The East Molesey (Kent Town) Conservation Area was designated on 18 December 1973 by Surrey County Council and extended by Elmbridge Borough Council on 23 November 1994, 18 May 2000 and again on 15 November 2011.

The conservation area is located on the south bank of the Thames across the river from Hampton Court Palace. The conservation area includes the commercial area of Bridge Road and Creek Road which are located just south of Hampton Court Bridge, whilst to the east it includes the mid-19th century Hampton Court Station and Cigarette Island. It also includes very attractive and generously laid out residential roads forming a grid which were laid out by the property developer, Francis Jackson Kent in the mid-19th century.
