Gambling policy review

We are consulting on changes to our gambling policy and would like to hear your views. 

Every third year, we must review our statement of licensing policy under the Gambling Act 2005.  Our current policy expires on 31 December 2023.

Our policy plays a vital role in our desire to manage the risk of gambling-related harm in Elmbridge and to regulate gambling activity to mitigate the risk of such harm.  In setting out how operators of gambling premises should operate, the policy contributes to our priorities relating to reduced levels of crime and ensuring there is a vibrant cultural and leisure offer for residents, businesses and visitors that is safe and attractive.

Our policy needs to be up to date and relevant to the individual characteristics of the borough. We have made some minor amendments to the current policy to develop a revised, draft policy.

The consultation starts on Wednesday 2 August 2023 and finishes at midnight on Friday 1 September 2023.

We are unlikely to consider anonymous responses or those given after 1 September 2023.
