On 5 July, Elmbridge Cabinet will be asked to consider a pilot for council car parks in Walton-on-Thames, offering 30 minutes free parking Monday to Friday and Sundays. There is already 1-hour free parking in council car parks in Walton on Saturdays.
The pilot would start on 1 September 2023 and run up to March 2024. This pilot aims to determine whether 30-minute free parking encourages more visitors to experience the retail and leisure offering in Walton.
