Working together for better health and wellbeing

NW Surrey Alliance logo

With the strain of the cost of living crisis compromising the health and wellbeing of so many, it’s never been more important for local public services to work together to offer residents the best possible support.

The North West Surrey Health and Care Alliance is a formal partnership of key organisations across the Boroughs of Woking, Runnymede, Elmbridge and Spelthorne that all have an impact on the health, wellbeing and happiness of local people.

Purpose

The Care Alliance brings together the boroughs and county council, with NHS and healthcare organisations across general practice, community services, mental health, hospital and hospice care with the simple aim of looking to use collective experience, resources and efforts to have a positive impact on the communities we serve.

Looking at the wider determinants of health such as housing, education and the environment, and use our shared skills, expertise, assets and goodwill of local communities we are working to develop a culture of healthy living and supportive neighbourhoods.

Holistic care for all

Supporting people to be happy and healthy means considering all of their health, wellbeing and social care needs. The Alliance has continued to expand social prescribing, linking residents who have social, emotional or practical needs that cannot be addressed by a GP to a wealth of different local services.

The Alliance’s step down housing offer is providing a safe place to live for some of our most vulnerable residents who are discharged from hospital but are not quite ready to live completely independently.
