Update 9 December 2022

We are thrilled with the announcement that Elmbridge has been successful in its investment plan bid to the UK Shared Prosperity Fund.

The £1m investment plan includes plans to support the relaunch the Walton Playhouse, as well as invest in playgrounds across the borough and will help build on what makes the borough special to ensure it continues to thrive and becomes one of the best places to live and work in the country.

Councillor Robin Stephens Portfolio Holder for Economy and Local Enterprise said: “Today we moved a step closer to our vision for a thriving Elmbridge thanks to the UK Shared Prosperity Fund. We look forward to working with our community and our local businesses and help deliver on sustainable and thriving Elmbridge."

Huge thanks to our partners around Elmbridge, our Councillors and local MPs, Dominic Raab and Dr Ben Spencer, for their support with this successful investment plan.

3 August 2022

Elmbridge Borough Council has submitted our investment plan for the UK Shared Prosperity Fund, which could see £1m of new national funding awarded to the borough from the UK Government’s Levelling Up agenda.

Our investment plan will help build on what makes the borough special to ensure it continues to thrive and becomes one of the best places to live and work in the country.

If accepted by Government this autumn, the plan will provide new investment in our high streets, play equipment and help to support plans to relaunch the Walton Playhouse.

Councillor Robin Stephens Portfolio Holder for Economy and Local Enterprise said, “We are excited to present to the Government our plans for the Shared Prosperity Fund which include help to support plans to relaunch the Walton Playhouse and playgrounds across the borough. We want to work with our community locally to target support, invest in our community facilities, back our high streets and help our businesses reduce their costs and carbon footprint.

“We would like to thank the MPs for their endorsement of our plan and look forward to working with them and the community, voluntary and business groups locally to maximise the impact of the funding”
