Lost and stray dogs

How to report lost and stray dogs, collect your dog, report a road accident involving a dog, and information on microchipping pets.

To report lost and stray dogs, contract our contractors SDK Environmental Ltd on 03444 828300.

To report a confined stray dog, call 03444 828320.

To see if  SDK have collected your dog, visit SDK: Dogs awaiting collection and select Elmbridge as your council area. Then call 03444 828300 to claim your dog.

Road accidents involving dogs

Road accidents involving dogs should be reported online to the police within 24 hours or at the nearest police station (see Surrey Police: Find a police station).

Pet-ID or microchip

Since 6 April 2016, all dogs in England, Scotland and Wales must be microchipped, see GOV.UK: Get your dog microchipped.
