Overview

You can choose how you vote in elections. If you cannot vote in person, you may be able to:

  • vote by post – apply for a postal vote and receive your ballot by post
  • vote by proxy – ask someone you trust to vote on your behalf
  • apply for an emergency proxy vote – if something unexpected happens after the proxy deadline and you cannot vote in person

Each option has its own application process and deadlines. Check the details before you apply.
