Details of future elections due to take place.

East Surrey Council elections

Local elections will take place across Surrey on Thursday 7 May 2026.   You will get the opportunity to elect who you want to represent you in your new East Surrey Council. See East Surrey Council elections for more information on voting.

East Surrey Council will have 72 councillors made up of two councillors for each of its 36 wards. There will be 18 councillors across 9 wards representing Elmbridge’s geographic area. New council wards will follow the new county council divisional boundaries.

Councillors elected in May 2026 will serve for a term of 5 years.  They will initially sit on the shadow authority for East Surrey until the new unitary council formally begins operating on 1 April 2027.

Your existing county and borough councillors will continue to represent you until 31 March 2027.
