Meals on Wheels provides freshly cooked hot meals direct to your door. Don’t want the hassle of cooking? We deliver a seven-day service to all areas of Elmbridge and a Monday to Friday service to Leatherhead, Fetcham and Bookham.
We can only provide a weekend Meals on Wheels service of a hot meal, to residents that fit within the criteria outlined below.
- Live alone or with an elderly carer and are unable to heat up/cook a meal.
- Do not have the ability to shop for a main meal.
- No support from family or neighbours to provide weekend meals.
- Ability to remain living at home if Meals on Wheels services are provided.
- Meals on wheels are received every day during the week.
For residents who do not fit within the above criteria, but would still like a meal for the weekend, frozen meals can be provided alongside the hot meal delivery before the weekend. These will be for the resident to heat up themselves over the weekend.
The service can be provided for as short or long a time as needed, so whether you want just a couple of days a week or something more long-term, we can deliver a service that suits you.
And our service isn’t just a hot meal! Our volunteer delivery drivers have a quick chat with everyone on the round, making sure everything’s okay and giving peace of mind to friends and family.
What we offer
Our service can deliver all three daily meals:
- A hot lunchtime service
Either a 2 course (main meal and pudding) or 1 course meal. Meals include classics such as roast beef and yorkshire pudding or fish in parsley sauce. Puddings include apple crumble and chocolate cake.
Cost: £5.40 for 2 courses or £5.10 for 1 course. - A supper service
Delivered with the lunchtime meal, consisting of a sandwich and cake, fruit or other cold dessert.
Cost: £3.40 - A breakfast service
Delivered at lunchtime for the following morning, consisting of either cereal, yoghurt or rolls (with butter, jam or marmalade) and a carton of fruit juice.
Cost: £1.60
We can provide a range of specialised diets such as vegetarian, gluten free, soft or diabetic. We endeavor to provide meals which meet the medical and cultural needs of our customers.
Please note that for meals delivered at weekends and Bank Holidays to Hersham, Walton-on-Thames, Weybridge, Cobham, Oxshott and Stoke D'Abernon there is an additional cost of 10p per day.
Mole Valley Meals on Wheels
For residents of Leatherhead, Fetcham and Bookham we are able to offer a Monday to Friday meals service. Frozen meals can be delivered on a Friday to cover the weekend if needed.
The Mole Valley service operates at the following rates:
- Main meal and pudding
Cost: £5.80 (please note we are unable to provide a meal only service to Mole Valley residents)
- Supper service
Cost: £3.40
- Breakfast service
Cost: £1.60
How to apply for Meals on Wheels
We can only process applications during the week (9am to 5pm, Monday to Friday). We are not open at the weekends or during the Bank Holidays.
Elmbridge residents can apply for Meals on Wheels using our online form.
Mole Valley residents, please complete the Mole Valley online form.
Once your application has been processed, we aim to start the service within 24 hours.
