Charities offering help and support

There are organisations that can provide support and advice on benefits, debt and more. 

• CHEER 

  Supports older people living in Elmbridge, including providing benefits advice. 
  
  

• Citizens Advice Bureau (CAB)
  Contact Citizens Advice if you need support and advice on debt, benefits, housing or employment:
  
  • If you live in the west of the borough (Hersham, Walton and Weybridge): email  advice@caew.org.uk, phone 0808 278 7887 or  complete an enquiry form. There are also drop-in advice sessions available at:
    

    • Hersham Centre for the Community. First 3 Wednesdays of the month, 10am-12pm.

    • Older Persons Advisory Drop-In (for residents aged 60 and over), Weybridge Centre for the Community, Mondays, 9.30am-12pm. 

  • If you live in the east of the borough (Claygate, Cobham, Hinchley Wood, Molesey and Thames Ditton): visit the  Esher Citizens Advice website and complete the online form or phone: 01372 464770.   

• Elmbridge Eco Hub
  The Eco Hub has a Community Fridge, Library of Things and Community Garden. 
  

• Elmbridge Homestart
  

  Practical and emotional support for families who are struggling to cope for a variety of reasons.

   

• Elmbridge Mencap
  

  Offer advice, signposting and can refer residents to Foodbanks.
  
  

• Oasis
  

  Support for vulnerable families and children in Elmbridge.
    

• Lower Green Community Centre
  

  The centre runs a community fridge. 
   

• Rentstart

  Contact the Team if you’re worried about keeping your home, are homeless or vulnerably housed.

   

• Turn2us 
  Helps with checking benefits entitlement, searching for a grant and generally getting you back on track.
   

• Walsingham Care

  Provides financial assistance to older people living in Elmbridge including grants and support with adaptations for independent living at home.

    
• Walton Charity  
  Walton Charity is a local charitable foundation.  Through their individual grants  and community grants programmes they support Elmbridge residents who are experiencing financial hardship. They also produce a local support directory.
