Violence against women and girls

Violence against women and girls is a serious crime. Find out more and how to get help.

Violence against women and girls can be physical, sexual, emotional or economic. It can happen in public or in private life. 

Safety in public places

StreetSafe is a pilot service that lets you tell us anonymously about public places where you’ve felt unsafe.

You can tell us about:

  • environmental issues, such as poor street lighting, abandoned buildings or vandalism
  • behaviours, such as being followed or verbally abused

To tell us about concerns about safety in public places, email communitysafety@elmbridge.gov.uk.
