All premises where cooling towers and evaporative condensers are situated must register with the local authority for the area. This is in accordance with The Notification of Cooling Towers and Evaporative Condensers Regulations 1992.
No fee is required.
The purpose for registration is to identify potential areas that could cause the spread of infectious diseases - for example, legionella - and to ensure preventative measures are taken to eliminate the risk of infection spreading to employees and the public.
