Tell us about a change affecting benefits

Tell us about a change in your situation that may affect your Housing Benefit or Council Tax Support.

To tell us you are moving home:

Complete the change of address form

To tell us about another change:

Complete the change in circumstances form on My Account

For Housing Benefit, you have 1 month from the date of the change to tell us.
For Council Tax Support, you must tell us within 21 days.

If you delay telling us about any changes, the amount you get may be less or stop, or you may get too much benefit or support which you will have to repay.

It is an offence not to tell us about any change of circumstances that affects your benefit. In some cases, we may take court action against you.

Universal Credit

If you receive Universal Credit, you must notify the Department for Work and Pensions (DWP) of any changes in your income. They will notify us of changes which may affect your Council Tax Support.
