What the ‘Rethink Waste’ scheme is about
Rethink Waste is a free scheme that offers a range of rewards for reducing waste. It is available to anyone living in Surrey, and
3,050 Elmbridge residents have already signed up.
The ‘Rethink Waste’ scheme is being delivered by Surrey Environment Partnership in collaboration with Greenredeem.
Surrey Environment Partnership (SEP) is made up of Surrey County Council and the 11 district and borough councils in the county (including Elmbridge). It aims to manage Surrey’s waste in the most efficient, effective, economical and sustainable manner.
Greenredeem is an organisation that provides digital engagement platforms to provoke environmental behaviour change.
How ‘Rethink Waste’ works
- Sign up online to the Rethink Waste scheme to get access to a personalised dashboard giving you access to activities and resources to help you reduce waste and monitor your progress
- You will receive weekly emails to get you involved in various engaging gamified activities, pledges, videos and quizzes that will help you make small yet impactful lifestyle change
By taking part, you receive points you can use to:
- Enter competitions for prizes like iPads and TVs
- Make donations to charities or local community groups
- Support local schools
*Schools that take part could be in line to receive funding from the scheme to run an environmental project benefiting the school and its pupils.
