Our journey so far

  • July 2019:
We declared a Climate Emergency and pledged to become a carbon neutral organisation by 2030.

  • March 2020:
We began partnership working across Surrey on climate change challenges.

  • September 2020:
We published our Carbon Management and Reduction Plan 2020-2030, and endorsed the strategic ambitions and priorities of Surrey’s Climate Change Strategy.
We also established a Climate Change Member Advisory Panel to oversee and steer our work to tackle the Climate Emergency

  • 2021:
We are implementing carbon reduction and sustainability actions across our own estate and operations, including feasibility studies for solar panel installations on our own estate, switching to a renewable electricity source, working remotely and reducing business travel and staff commute.
We’re also installing electric vehicle charging points in key locations across the borough, and we have started a green corridor verge trial along Hampton Court Way, to rewild our grass verges.
