At home, the main sources of emissions are natural gas for heating and cooking, and electricity from appliances such as lighting.

How you can reduce emissions at home

  • Get energy saving advice and increase energy efficiency
Visit the Action Surrey website for free impartial energy advice. They can help you with reducing your costs and carbon footprint, accessing funding and installing renewable heat solutions.
  • Get renewable energy
You can purchase electricity and gas from renewable energy sources or install your own renewables.  Find out more on the Big clean switch website or take a look at Solar Together Surrey, which is a bulk buying scheme to install solar panels and battery storage in your home.  More information is available on the Centre for Sustainable Energy website.
