Elmbridge Borough Council has now paid out more than £20 million to support businesses through the coronavirus pandemic.
Small businesses from a variety of sectors and businesses on our high streets from across the retail, leisure and hospitality sectors have benefitted from funding to help them through these uncertain times.
The council is doing all we can to back our businesses and high streets to help them adapt, survive and thrive. To offer further support we have put together a new support package to help our high streets and independent businesses with access to:
Councillor Christine Elmer, Portfolio Holder for Corporate and Community Development said "Our high streets and businesses are the life blood of our town and village centres. We will continue to do all we can to back them through this difficult time. We have distributed millions of pounds in grant funding but want to do more to help our businesses adapt and survive. Independent high street businesses can get help to sell online, implement social distancing measures - for example additional signage or a flexi-plastic protective screen round the till to protect staff and customers – and get the right advice and support to get through this incredibly difficult time."
